Pots are made with a cast aluminum inner pot and heavy steel housing.

Dispensing is accomplished through a heated, hand, or solenoid operated needle valve with orifice of suitable size. Standard valve sizes are 1/8”, ¼”, 3/8”, and ½” in both the E and EX type seats.

All sizes are readily adjustable to suitable height above the work by means of set screws located in the heavy boss which slides up and down the pipe column support.

Uses

Sta-Warm compound dispensing units are designed for fast, easy and efficient dispensing of many heated materials, including asphalt, pitch, waxes, thermoplastic, adhesives, and other industrial

Heating Element

The famous Sta-Warm “Even Heat” multiple circuit, blanket type element is uniformly applied to the entire bottom area and up the sidewalls to approximately 75% of the wall height. Even heat is distributed at a low watt density (approximately 5 watts per square inch maximum) eliminating the danger of “hot” spots.

Construction

Pots are made with a cast aluminum inner pot and heavy steel housing. Tanks are of fabricated steel, both inner tank and housing. On special order, the inner pot or tank, can be made of stainless steel. Loose covers are standard equipment.

Glass blanket or expanded mica is used as thermal insulation to reduce heat loss. Contactors, control
transformers, etc., when required, are mounted in a gasketed inclosure. Dispensing is accomplished through a heated, hand, or solenoid operated needle valve with orifice of suitable size. Standard valve sizes are 1/8”,  1/4”, 3/8”, and  1/2” in both the E and EX type seats.

Other sizes are available on special order. An adjusting screw, with lock nut, limits the travel of the needle and aids in controlling the flow. Style and size should be specified.

All sizes are readily adjustable to suitable height above the work by means of set screws located in the heavy boss which slides up and down the pipe column support.

Solid state relays, contactors, control transformers, etc., when required, are mounted in a gasketed enclosure.

Control

Electronic controls closely control the wall temperature. Each tank and control is operated a minimum of 12 hours continuously during calibration test, insuring the purchaser, of highest quality and trouble-free operation. Standard temperature range is 60 - 550 F. Digital temperature controls can be customer calibrated to meet your specific application needs.

Voltages and Sizes

Heated dispensing melt pots are available in single phase voltages of 120, 208, or 240 V., 50 or 60 cycle. Heating tanks are available in single or three phase voltages of 120, 208, 240, 480, or 550V., 50 or 60 cycle Other voltages or frequencies can be made to order.

Outlets

The standard outlet supplied is an electrically heated and thermostatically controlled brass, wheel type, gate valve. It is externally mounted for accessibility. All iron or stainless steel valves are available, if required, as well as quick opening gate valves or needle dispensing valves. Valves have internal thermostats that are factory set to your specific application needs.

Agitators for Dispensers

The purpose of agitating materials is to distribute heat more evenly, to maintain inert materials in
suspension, to reduce melt-down time or to blend components. For these purposes, two of the three basic types of Sta-Warm power agitators are suitable.

The simple two-blade paddle Type “A” has blades which rotate in a horizontal plane at slow speed of 29 rpm, depending on size. It is powered by a heavy duty right angle drive gear motor. This type is suitable for materials of relatively high viscosity.

Type “C”, usually operated at about 300 rpm, employs a marine type propeller and is particularly suitable for use with materials having a low viscosity.

With either type of agitator, grates are recommended to prevent the agitation from working unmelted lumps of material into the neck of the needle valve or jamming the agitator.

Special Features

Sta-Warm is prepared to furnish electrically heated tanks of other sizes, shapes, voltages or materials having special controls, outlets, zoned heating, etc., to the user’s particular requirements. Contact us about our confidential data sheet questionnaire.

Sta-Warm can manufacture a heated dispensing pot that fits your application, offering pots in 2, 4, and 10 quart capacities. If you application requires the heating and mixing of larger batches of plastisols, we also offer a complete line of industrial grade tanks, complete with agitation, and precise temperature controls.

Heated Pots

Like all Sta-Warm equipment, these bench pots have the exclusive Sta-Warm multiple circuit elements uniformly applied to the bottom and sidewalls to provide “even-heat”. The low watt densities used result in long life and trouble-free performance.

The three smaller units have highest quality adjustable bi-metal thermostats with a temperature range of 200°-550°F. The 20 quart pot is equipped with a bulb and capillary thermostat having a range of 200°-550°F. Special thermostats are available for use with sulphur, paraffin and other low melting waxes in the 100°-300°F. range, with other special temperature range controls available. Specify temperature when special.
